A little about me
My name is Shannon, and making St. Brigid’s Crosses truly runs in my veins. My granny made them, as did her mother before her, and now I’m honoured to carry this tradition forward — a living craft that has been part of my family for over 90 years.
Here in Ireland, I grow my own rushes, working in harmony with the land to ensure every bundle is ethically sourced and sustainable. For me, weaving St. Brigid’s Crosses is not just a seasonal pastime — it’s a way of life. Each cross carries the culture, spirit, and blessings of Ireland, and I take great pride in sharing them with people all over the world.
St. Brigid is one of Ireland’s most cherished saints, remembered as a symbol of protection, peace, and new beginnings. To me, she represents strength, kindness, and the deep bond between our people and the land we call home. Keeping her traditions alive is more than a craft — it’s my passion, my heritage, and my way of honouring Ireland’s story.
